Prosecutor Says He Doesn't See Torture On Chicken Video

Pilgrim's Pride Fired 11 Employees

A prosecutor investigating alleged mistreatment of chickens at a slaughterhouse used by Kentucky Fried Chicken said he does not believe what he has seen so far amounts to torture.

Last month, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals released secretly recorded video of workers stomping on chickens and slamming them into walls at a Pilgrim's Pride plant in West Virginia.

Pilgrim's Pride quickly fired 11 employees after the footage was released.

But Hardy County Prosecutor Lucas See said the actions on tape appear to show the quickest available method to kill the birds.

PETA has accused See of not taking the case seriously, and is urging him to file felony animal-cruelty charges.
