Blaze At Adult Bookstore Has Investigators Considering Arson
Few Details Available
LOUISVILLE -- An overnight fire at a local adult bookstore has fire investigators suspicious. The blaze began at about 4 a.m. Thursday at Metro Station in the 4900 block of Poplar Level Road in Okolona, WLKY NewsChannel 32's Julia Harding reported. Several people were inside the business when the fire started, but they all escaped unharmed, according to investigators.Police added that the blaze began outside the business and worked its way into the bookstore, Harding reported. The building suffered only minor damage, as firefighters needed only 20 minutes to put out the fire.
"The arson folks are just beginning their work," Okolona Fire Chief Rich Carlson said. "The fire is under investigation. It is of a suspicious nature."Carlson added that while six area businesses have been damaged by recent fires, he doesn't believe Thursday's blaze is related. The owner of Metro Station said he did not want to talk on-camera, but told Harding that he thinks his store surveillance video caught a possible suspect on tape. Please follow WLKY NewsChannel 32 and TheLouisvilleChannel.com for updates to this story as they become available.
