Jury Recommends 420 Years For Local Rapist

Convicted Wednesday, Boston Will Be Sentenced Next Month

A man accused of raping three women more than a decade ago could be sentenced to more than 400 years in prison.

John Boston

A Jefferson County jury found John Boston (pictured, left), 41, guilty Wednesday on nine counts of rape, robbery, and burglary, WLKY NewsChannel 32 reported. Jurors recommended the maximum sentence for each count, which totaled 420 years.

Boston actually -- and literally -- sealed his own fate by sending a letter to police bragging about his crimes. According to investigators, he matched up DNA evidence from victims to saliva on the envelope he mailed.

Prosecutors said it's unlikely he'll ever get out of prison, and his victims are relieved.

"For years, I wondered what I'm going to say to my daughter because this man was never caught," an unidentified rape victim said. "I never thought there would be justice for this, and now, I can tell her it has an ending to it and it's time for me to put it in the past."

Boston will be formally sentenced next month.
