Building's Communications Knocked Out Briefly
SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. -- A local man who works to protect and save lives nearly lost his own life Thursday.
Lightning struck the Bullitt County Emergency Dispatch Center and knocked out the building's communications capabilities, WLKY NewsChannel 32 reported.
Dispatcher Marke Richardson was working at his computer console when sparks flew up from it after the lightning struck.
Once it was determined that Richardson was OK, dispatchers managed to get a makeshift system up and running so that emergency calls could be handled without a problem.
