And not only did Bingham not hold a grudge against the remaining four contestants -- Keith and Colby also are still in it -- he wished Elisabeth well and even said that he hopes she wins it all.
"I just want to say I gave it my best shot and I guess fifth place out of some 49,000 people ain't too bad," Bingham said to his friends and family in a videotape (pictured, below) Thursday.
For the second straight week, Bingham wasn't around when friends and family gathered in Crittenden to watch the show. But unlike last week, Bingham wasn't going to be tardy; he was a complete no-show. Kentucky Joe was in New York preparing for the obligatory round of network interviews.
"Being out there in the Outback, I found that it was hard to scheme and lie and do what you had to do to get to first place," Bingham said in the videotape. "But in the long run, I guess that's not so bad."
The gathering in Crittenden gave Rodger a standing ovation in the living room as he was voted off. Neighbors even carried torches to the doorstep of the house, demanding a recount.
