Camm, a former Indiana State Police trooper, is charged with killing his wife, Kimberly, and his two children, Jill and Bradley, in their Georgetown, Ind., home in September 2000.

Jurors spent a long day Thursday watching as dozens of items of evidence -- including bloody prints, bullets, bed covers, and scrapings from Camm's garage floor -- were logged in, NewsChannel 32's Abby Miller reported.

Clothes worn by Camm, his wife, and his children were also among the items of evidence, as were a mop and a bucket taken from the scene, Miller reported.

The goal of the prosecution was to prove that the evidence had been taken into police custody properly.

Prosecutors said that the shell casings found at the scene were the same size -- .38 caliber -- as bullets found in David Camm's basement ammunition locker.

Camm's attorney, Mike McDaniel, said that testing shows that the shell casings from the scene do not match the bullets that belonged to Camm.

"One of the ballistics experts will testify that the casings and bullets that killed the Camm family are completely different than the ammunition that David had," McDaniel said.

Deputy Prosecutor Shane Gibson said Thursday that the absence of a murder weapon won't damage efforts to convict Camm.

"Unfortunately, we don't have the gun," Gibson said. "It'd always be nice to have a murder weapon. But the other evidence points in that direction, and we feel very strongly about the evidence that we do have."

More evidence will be logged in Friday, and a trip to the Sellersburg State Police Post see the Ford Bronco in which Jill and Brad Camm's bodies were found is on the agenda for Friday afternoon, WLKY reported.

If prosecutors need additional time to add items of evidence to the record, the jury will see the Bronco Monday, Miller reported.
